Product Details

Upon occasion I come across an exceptional stone offered at an unbelievable price. This gorgeous sapphire is one on of those purchases. Certified by the prestigious Gemological Institute of America (GIA) the large sapphire is rare not only because of its quality and size but because it is unheated/untreated. The sapphire weighs 3.85 carats and measures an impressive 10.61 X 7.49 X 5.13 mm. The stone caught my eye because of its extraordinary color with is a strong velvet purple with exceptional purple and magenta flashes. The colorful brilliance filled with purples, pinks and those red flashes make it one of the most extraordinary sapphires I have seen. The sapphire is eye-clean in clarity (in the photos and with a loupe you will observe both growth tubes and rutile needles further evidence that it is untreated). The sapphire is set in a heavy four prong platinum basket setting and is at a low height for added durability and security. On either side off the center set sapphire are a pair of high quality pear cut diamonds that are 0.50 carats total weight and VS2 clarity H color. The ring is made with 8.55 grams of cobalt platinum and is a size 6 (please indicate in the comments section of the order form if the ring needs to be resized). The GIA certificate is shown in the photos and will accompany the sale of this ring.
